1998       Chiwaki and Chara share a mutual feeling of "I kinda want to have girl band". Chiwaki chooses guitar, and Chara chooses drums. Soon after, they invite YUKARIE to be the bassist. Then YUKI joins, and Mean Machine has twin drummers. Finally, Chara invites actress Ayumi to be the vocalist. With her reply of "You'd like me?", Mean Machine was complete.

Spring 1999       First rehearsal. Rehearsal was delayed because of the slow delivery of Chara and YUKI's custom-designed drums (glitter, small-fit Pearl).
